Part C combines Part A, Part B and many times Part D as well as other additional services a person may require such as hearing, dental, vision, and more. These plans have low to no premiums.
A Medicare Supplement (aka Medigap) insurance, sold by private companies, can help reduce out-of-pocket expenses by paying for certain healthcare costs that Original Medicare doesn't fully cover, like co-payments, coinsurance, and deductibles. These plans require the payment of monthly premiums in addition to Medicare Part B premiums.
Medicare Part D is the federal government's prescription drug program that covers both brand-name and generic prescription drugs at participating pharmacies in your area. Each Medicare prescription drug plan (aka PDP) uses a formulary, which is a list of medications covered by the plan and your costs for each.
